About

Hi! I am Sergi Soler Arrufat, currently a Master’s student in Cybersecurity at EPFL-ETHZ. I graduated in 2024 year from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC - Barcelonatech) with Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Engineering, after completing my thesis at MIT’s CSAIL.

In the internet I quite frequently use the alias ‘fraret’, which as explained in the main page means puffin in Catalan, my mother tongue. Many of my handles are variations of this alias.

My current main interests lie in the intersection of computer hardware/architecture and security. I have worked on hardware acceleration for AES and similar ciphers in previous internships, and my Bachelor’s thesis was on hardware acceleration of fully homomorphic encryption. I am currently doing my master’s final project on base-2K decomposition for torus FHE. Of course, there are many other academic topics that I would like to know more about, but I would not be able to list them all here. One that is completely unrelated to my studies is theatre, and I was an amateur actor in the faculty’s theatre group when my schedule permitted it.

My CV is attached here.
